I have used so many different recipes for this annual cake - even one with chocolate pieces in, my 'it is not christmas' cake. But this standard/traditional/always success recipe is for this year. Only change is that I have used my new heavy duty square 8''/23cm tin rather than a round or 7''/20cm square one. And it looks fine. Smells a bit strongly of nutmeg.. not necessarily a bad thing.
